Duration

1 year full-time. Part-time also available.

Entry Requirements

Successful completion of a degree in a related discipline at upper second class honours or above, or an equivalent recognised international qualification in a related discipline. Applications from candidates without standard qualifications may be considered on the basis of prior experiential learning. Applicants submit a completed application form and personal statement. An interview and portfolio are normally required. Overseas applicants who are unable to attend interview may be interviewed by telephone or using skype.

Moving image designers are highly specialised, yet they require a broad range of skills and capabilities to meet the wide-ranging demands of industry. They can become creative directors; highly creative and innovative problem solvers, and experimental designers who, through their design abilities and knowledge of technology, can offer a thoroughly innovative approach to a brief. MA Moving Image prepares you for industry, offering the opportunity to work closely with a range of industry partners to develop your chosen specialism.

Moving Image Designers need to be able to devise new ways to attracting audiences, whether through promotion and advertising; exhibition; moving image for mobile devices and the web, and other areas of motion design. Conceptual dexterity is a valuable industry skill.

You will refine your understanding of the communication process and learn to regard yourself as a conceptual thinker engaged in the strategy business. The course’s emphasis on developing viable research processes in line with understanding business and market research enables you to fully understand the client’s needs. The course also offers you the opportunity to experiment with emerging technologies and moving image techniques.
