Hi, I’m James Ward and I run the Further Education (FE) programmes here at Ravensbourne. You’ll see me being interviewed in my favourite blue cotton shirt in the video above, which we filmed for the FE end of year show in 2011.

Over the last two years our courses have been so successful we have recruited too many students. The exciting news is Ravensbourne has been allocated an additional 60 places for our FE courses this coming year.

With this in mind, we have re-opened applications for the Pre-Foundation and both our Foundation Diploma courses – Design & Media, and Media Production.

Recognising our strengths and growing applications in Fashion & Textiles I am pleased to confirm that from this coming September we shall also be running a new specific Foundation Diploma in Fashion & Textiles (please see the course guide for more info).

Why should you join us at Ravensbourne for your Further Education Study?

We strongly believe that being an FE student studying in a Higher Education context greatly enhances the quality of your experience. This is because you get both the context of on-course learning and teaching in a more expert academic environment as well as the influence of wider factors like studying with a broad range of ages and experiences and being close to relevant and up-to-date knowledge and learning methods.

Ravensbourne is a different kind of institution – we believe that digital is the future, and across the campus you’ll find the most up-to-date technology and teaching. We’re training the next generation of digital experts whilst some colleges have yet to modernise.

These enhanced factors are of fundamental importance in setting the scene for your HE progression route, to enable your educational journey to be better equipped than if you had not had this specialist introduction of creative FE study at Ravensbourne.
