| Introduction to Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator | Weekends 10.00 – 15.30 (30 mins break)
Five hours per week over four weeks |
Explore basic Illustration, design and home publishing techniques in this 20 hour introductory course. The three programmes will be taught alongside each other, maximising on the cross-over between the individual software. You will be guided through the basics of each programme, quickly gaining a broad base of skills. | Course begins Saturday June |
| Build Your Own Website | Evenings 18.00 – 21.00
Three hours per week over four weeks |
Whether you are completely new to working with the web or have some experience and would like to brush up on your skills and extend your knowledge, this course will be perfect for you. The course will provide you with the skills to successfully create and run your own website and blog. It takes you through the basics of WordPress, covering all the most useful features and tools that WordPress offers. | Course begins 14th May |
| Introduction to 3D Architecture | Evenings 18.00 – 20.30
Two and a half hours per week over five weeks |
This five week course will introduce you to Vectorworks CAD software. | Course begins 20th June |
| Introduction to Soundtrack Pro | Evenings 18.00 – 21.00
Three hours per week over five weeks |
This course introduces you to Soundtrack Pro, basic recording techniques, and an understanding of the essentials of the film soundtrack. You will go on to produce a new soundtrack for a one-minute extract of a film, whilst receiving technical and practical support in the use of sound design techniques. | Course begins 16th May |
| Introduction to Animation | Evenings 18.00 – 21.00
Three hours per week, over five weeks |
You will see an animation through the initial brainstorming stage to post-production, and will learn basic editing techniques. You will view a variety of animated films and will be introduced to different animation processes within Adobe After Effects. This will culminate in the production of a one minute animated film. | Course begins 17th May |
| Introduction to Digital Photography | Weekends 10.00 – 15.30 (30 mins break)
Five hours per week, over four weeks |
You will be introduced to the functionalities of the digital SLR camera and will be given the opportunity to experiment with different settings and modes. You will be taught the fundamentals of studio lighting and experiment with lighting techniques. You will then be given the opportunity to put together a portfolio of shots relating to a set theme. | Course begins 19th May |
| Introduction to Film Editing with Final Cut Pro | Evenings 18.00 – 21.00
Three hours per week, over five weeks |
This course provides you with Final Cut Pro basic editing techniques and will introduce you to the essential film language concepts that allow an editor to work on a film or video project. You can then go on to produce your own short film. | Course begins 15th May |
| Social Networking for Beginners | Saturdays throughout July 10.00 – 15.30* | This short course will introduce you to ideas and principles of social media and will help you create and manage an online presence on the main networks. On completion of the course, you will have a working social media package comprising of a Facebook account, LinkedIn account, Twitter account and a WordPress blog. | *Four evenings in July, 17.30 – 20.30 at Woolwich Centre Library |
| Introduction to Photoshop for Textiles | Wednesday evenings 17.30 – 20.30
Three hours per week, over five weeks |
This course is for complete beginners and for those with some experience of textile design and Photoshop. You will use Photoshop in textile and surface design, and will learn how to produce designs for a variety of uses including fashion, home, soft furnishings, and packaging, etc. Once you have completed the course you will be able to: create a repeating pattern; produce digital separations; re-colour your designs, and have a digital ready pattern for output onto cloth or paper. | Course begins 16th May |
