Advertising and branding
The world of Advertising is a big business. Companies, particularly big name brands – covered in more depth under branding, will spend huge amounts of budget to push their product(s) to the forefront of consumers’ minds. Advertising – whether it is a billboard advert, web banner, or press advert, communicates a message that includes the product, or service name, and how it can benefit the consumer.
What’s more, you’ll often hear a product, or service provider, being referred to as the ‘brand’. Quite simply, the ‘brand’ is made up of attributes and a product identity that the ‘brand’ owner(s) want you – the consumer – to perceive. The ‘brand’ name and identity reflect the personality of the ‘brand’ – think of the Apple ‘brand’: it’s fun, quirky and groundbreaking.
