Postgraduate

The Ravensbourne Postgraduate Framework brings together a suite of masters level courses designed to provide you with the professional knowledge and skills necessary to achieve a practice based specialist qualification and subsequently to take on senior posts in the design and communication industries.

All our postgraduate courses are organised as a suite of converging subjects focused on design and communication media and will allow you to explore the possibilities inherent within a collaborative design process.

We provide an environment that facilitates in-depth subject specialism but also maximises your opportunities to engage and collaborate with a wider range of creative disciplines and a broader postgraduate academic community.

All courses are offered on a full time or part time basis to encourage the participation of a broad range of students and to widen access to those employed in London’s creative industries.

You will be expected to take a large measure of personal responsibility for your own learning and creative development. While you progress through the course you will become increasingly self-directed in your acquisition of knowledge, personal development and the realisation of your projects. We will support your development, understanding and skills with lectures, seminars, workshops, tutorials and individual learning plans. Your course will start with collaborative projects and evolve around your independent project which will evolve into your final masters project.

You will study four units and conduct one masters project. Two units are pathway specific, ‘Technology Issues’ and ‘Concept and Prototyping’ and two are taken with the whole postgraduate community, ‘Research Process’ and ‘Business and Innovation’. These units use a three-stage learning cycle which consists of four to five week clusters of lectures, seminars, workshops and tutorials followed by formative assessment after the first two cycles and by summative assessment after the third.

Note: Our postgraduate degrees are validated by City University London.
