Level 3 Access to Higher Education Diploma – Art and Design
The Access to Higher Education Diploma in Art and Design is aimed at those wishing to progress onto higher education but currently do not have the necessary skills set or qualifications to do so.
You will investigate the disciplines of art, design, media and communication subjects in an individual and fulfilling way. You will develop your skills in these areas in a challenging and exciting way, so that your educational experience will identify and extend your creative, conceptual, technical and personal skills.
Subject areas studied throughout the year include the following:
- fashion and textiles
- graphic design and motion graphics
- 3DD – architecture and interactive product design
- lens-based media
- sound
- broadcasting
- animation, and
- photography.
Throughout the duration of your studies you will be encouraged to collaborate with staff and peers to push boundaries and explore your own and others contemporary practice. This enriching experience will help you achieve a good understanding of design and communication practices to serve as a platform for further study at higher education level; as well as develop your written and verbal skills. The end of the course will culminate in a final major project and an exhibition.
