What next for you? > Life at Ravensbourne

We have a small and lively student population of 1,700, from further education to postgraduate, where individuals can thrive and fulfil their creative potential. We are right at the heart of Greenwich Peninsula, in London's most exciting new community embracing the Thames riverside. And we benefit from being next door to the world’s most popular music venue The O2.
Greenwich Peninsula has shops, restaurants, bars, parks and healthcare facilities, many of which attract significant student discounts, sometimes up to 50% off. For more information about student benefits and facilities, click on the various headings below.
The Students' Union (SU) is elected democratically by the student body each year and is here to represent the voice of the students at Ravensbourne and on the Peninsula. The SU team organises student entertainment both on campus in the relaxed, intimate and laid back atmosphere and also at the Ravensbourne SU facility at the American Bar and Grill, Inc Club and Union Square in The O2, where you can indulge in even more student discounts and night life.
The SU also runs a number of clubs and societies, providing students with the opportunity to interact and socialise away from the rigours of study. If there is not an existing club or society that captures your interest then the Union welcomes contributions and ideas to broaden the range of clubs and activities on offer.
You can apply to run for a role on the student union team once you are enrolled, for the next academic year. This offers great opportunities to network, learn new skills and get involved with creating student events and activities.
If you want more information about how you can become involved please contact us via email: su@rave.ac.uk.
Current societies include:
Although Ravensbourne does not have its own sports facilities, it is located in the one of the sporting capitals of the world, with the 2012 Olympic park a few miles away, and The O2 being the venue for many international sporting events ranging from NBA basketball to equestrian Polo sporting days. The London Marathon starts in Greenwich Park each year, so apply for a place early, or simply go along and watch.
If you're more interested in participating than watching, then there are local sports clubs and gyms in Greenwich and throughout all of London, of which some offer student discounts too.
Our local venues include: Greenwich's facilities.
There are lots of private providers too, that’s if you’re into a regular commitment, but be warned, they are not cheap when you’re on a student budget! They often run promotional campaigns and free trial periods, check the latest offers here.
The Greenwich Peninsula Chaplaincy provides for the religious, spiritual, pastoral, educational and social needs of the local community.
The team is made up of religious leaders and lay people who are from a variety of different religions working together for mutual understanding so that all creeds and religions are catered for.
Drop in and discover what the chaplaincy has to offer. They’re located behind the green wall alongside Peninsula Square.
